About the Museum
The history of the museum began in the 1890s when Alexei Alexandrovich Bakhrushin, a Moscow industrialist and patron of the arts, donated his private theatrical collection to the city. Today, it is one of the world's largest theatre museums, housing over 1.5 million items in its collections.
